About Bellwether
Bellwether gets back to simple winemaking and a pure reflection of special sites and commitment of our growers.
Trend setting is about the appreciation of style, a new and respectful look at Classic Coonawarra Cabernet, or a modern, edgy cold climate Tasmanian Chardonnay right through to a dry, tangy Nero d’Avola Rosé from the Riverland. They are wines of purity, texture, complexity yet finesse. The subtle differences shine, natural balance in the vineyard, ancient geology, soils and appropriate climate/varietal matches so you can enjoy the flavour of natural acidity and complex phenolics.
Vines are hand pruned, shoot thinned and taste selected prior to picking, then hand picked, open fermented, basket pressed, fermented with indigenous yeast and a delicate hand with larger format often older french oak.
Bellwether wines aims to make wines that make you think, they are wines that Sue Bell has chosen to make, based on relationships with progressive growers.
