Tasmanian Riesling
Moore’s Hill, Exeter, Tamar Valley. I am smitten with Tasmania and have always loved Riesling. I see such piercing purity and concentration, even with natural ferment in old puncheons. Great vineyard and the undeniable fact that Tassie is the pointy end of Australian winemaking.

Heathcote Vermentino
Chalmers family, pioneers in all things alternate of the grape variety, Gourmet Traveller Viticulturist of the year. Vermentino is beautifully aromatic yet complex and textural, I have wanted to make Vermentino since trying it over 10 years ago in a heat wave in Euston, seeing the great potential it had for Australia’s future.

Grown by Ricca Terra Farms, extraordinarily tannic & phenolic, a white varietal all about texture, crisp & savoury, completely out of the box, ripens later than Coonawarra Cab and Tassie Chard in the Riverland – amazing! A fascinating white wine, the variety originates from Puglia.

Riverland Nero d’Avola Rose
Ashley & Holly Ratcliff. Made in a saignee style, crisp, dry and savoury, having seen the vineyard look fresh and vibrant on a 48 deg C day, I have no doubt this Sicilian variety is well poised for the future, multiple gold medals and sell out wines back this winning combination.
