This year's theme is 'Surviving and thriving' - my FAVOURITE event - a long lunch with lots of laughs, wine, stories and the eye watering judgement of desserts to see which winemaker can win the judges approval with not their wine, though there is plenty of that - but their dessert.
Sips in the Sticks started back in 2013 with the CWA catering before the Glen Roy Shearing Shed was renovated. The judging and feedback given by the ladies on the day lead by local food identity Kate Spencer, was brutal and most entertaining to guests. This tradition lives on today with a perpetual trophy of the late Kate Spencer in the form of a wonderful Trevor Smith crocheted tea cosy.
Locked in is good friend and famed chef Clare Falzon of Staguni. are Bellwether (of course), Corrina Wright (Oliver's Taranga), Kate Goodman (Penley Estate), Guy Parkinson (Skillogallee), Dave Bowley (Vinterloper) and Charlotte Hardy (Charlotte Dalton wines).
